Spicy Vegetable Stir Fry (Sambarah)


50 gram (2 ounce) butter

1 red onion, sliced

1 tablespoons Garam Masala Powder

1 teaspoon Ground Ginger

3 carrots, cut into matchsticks

350 gram (12 ounce) white cabbage, shredded

1 green pepper, sliced

50 gram (2 ounce) peanuts

Salt and pepper to taste


1 Melt the butter in a large frying pan and fry the onion until softened. Add the Garam Masala and Ginger and fry for 1 minute.

2Add the remaining vegetables, peanuts, salt and pepper and stir fry for 7-8 minutes until the vegetables have softened.

3 This unusual Indian stir fry is great served with pan fried chicken or lamb chops.
