Calne Music and Arts Festival

This year’s Festival will be will be opened on Thursday 1st October at the Private View of the Art Exhibition, by Clive Farahar who appears regularly on the ‘Antiques Roadshow’. This is the start of ten days of diverse events , 32 in all , including classical concerts, chamber groups, recitals, choral works, jazz, folk, talks, dance and drama. As well as being the main concert hall venue, Marden House will be home to an Exhibition of Art by local amateur and professional artists and will be open to the public throughout the Festival. Meanwhile, in the Heritage Centre, the Calne Camera Club will be exhibiting their work. Fringe events  are also booked for the White Hart hotel. There is indeed something for everyone ! And for those who cannot make the main evening concert there is a CODA at 9pm most evenings featuring local performers and free!

We are honoured to welcome back Judith Weir , Master of the Queen’s Music, who was composer in residence at one of the first festivals, and very much look forward to hearing some of her works performed. Lunches are served in Marden House each day after the lunchtime recital, and, in the evening, there is a festival bar, coffee and cake.

Details of all the events and art and poetry competitions for children and adults  can be found on the Festival web-site:
