Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones, aka The Black Farmer, is a huge supporter of locally produced food – so much so that his new outside catering and lunch service uses only local artisan producers within a stone’s throw of his Chippenham base on Bumpers Farm.
“Wiltshire is jam packed with amazing artisan producers and I know that by working with them I am offering my customers the very best produce,” says Wilfred. “Expanding the business to include a catering option is a natural progression. I’ve had approaches from customers and corporates who love The Black Farmer food and want us to cater for events, from team lunches to birthday and wedding celebrations.
Specifically for people living and working in the Chippenham postcode area, Wilfred and his team have created a range of tasty lunches available Monday to Friday including fresh baguettes with a choice of fillings, The Black Farmer Natural Crisps and cake of the day, or one of Wilfred’s famous sausage rolls are on offer. For a healthier option, a tasty mixed salad box with a choice of toppings is available.
Outside catering options are endless, starting with the most important meal of the day, the epic breakfast platters include bagels generously topped with lemon cream cheese and salmon; matcha tea granola with extra creamy Greek yoghurt, honey and fruit; fresh pastries and muffins.
Canapes range from smoked salmon topped blinis to goats’ cheese, roasted beetroot and thyme bites and everything in between.
À la carte options of course include The Black Farmer signature sausages, buttery celeriac and potato mash, topped with rich onion gravy and crispy parsnips, roasted vegetables and garden peas. Alternatively, there’s fresh dressed garlic and thyme chicken breast with dauphinoise potatoes, fine green beans wrapped in smoked pancetta with a light jus or oven baked sea bass fillet with sauté potatoes, fine green beans, cherry tomatoes, black olives, lemon hollandaise and salsa verde.
