As part of a ‘12 exchanges’ scheme, Emery Gate Shopping Centre in Chippenham are offering local charity Waste Not Want Not Chippenham to host a drop in session at the centre to raise awareness of their work on Wednesday 22nd November 2023.
Waste Not Want Not Chippenham focuses on creating comfortable homes at affordable prices and rely on charitable support and donations in order to do so. They accept either cash donations or goods which need to be rehomed.
last year, Waste Not Want Not have supported 6,000 individuals, recycled 74 metric tonnes of goods from over 1,000 collections with the help of 35 volunteers.
Emery Gate Shopping Centre are providing the charity with a free space to engage with local shoppers and the community. Whilst at Emery Gate, Waste Not
Want Not Chippenham will be hosting a raffle to help raise funds for the charity and raise awareness of their incredible work.
Lizzie Olds, a spokesperson for Emery Gate said “We are incredibly proud to be offering a space to Waste Not Want Not Chippenham. During the current cost of living crisis, we are keen to encourage our shoppers to become more environmentally aware of their waste and the services Waste Not Want Not Chippenham provides. This is a great opportunity for shoppers to understand how recycling home goods can support those in need.”
The 12 exchanges scheme will be a monthly initiative where Emery Gate Shopping Centre invites local community groups, businesses and charities to have a free space within the centre. Waste Not Want Not Chippenham look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 22nd November 2023.
