Popular Orchestra Returns to Malmesbury Abbey With ‘Romantic Favourites’

Wessex Concert Orchestra is returning to Malmesbury Abbey for its Spring Concert on Saturday 30th March at 7.30pm.

This year the concert is entitled ‘Romantic Favourites’ and features the wonderful Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the exciting rising star soloist Charlie Lovell-Jones.

Charlie, amongst the various other appearances all over the country, was a finalist for the string section for the Young Musician of the year 2016.

The concert also includes the Peter Schmoll Overture by Weber and concludes with the Tchaikovsky’s jubilant 5th Symphony.

Conductor Tim Harrison says ‘There is not a more popular concerto than the fun, energetic and melodious Mendelssohn Violin Concerto and we welcome rising star violinist Charlie Lovell-Jones. Tchaikovsky’s 5th symphony is a gem of the Romantic era. This symphony, is amongst the finest in the repertoire, and will leave you with a smile on your face. We hope you can join us’
