Melksham’s Christmas Lights Switch On will take place on Saturday 7th December 2019. Hailed some of the best lights in the South West the event is particularly special as it is organised by a team of willing volunteers supported by the Town Council. One of the biggest events in the town calendar will see hundreds of people flock to the Market Place to see the lights turned on at 5pm, celebrated with a firework display. The festivities begin with the arrival of Santa and the opening of the Christmas Fayre from 2:30pm with lots of fantastic stalls supporting local crafts and good causes. The Market Place itself will be transformed with a stage hosting a DJ and local band the Decibelles, lots of stalls and funfair rides. Following his arrival excited children will be able to meet Santa in his grotto from 3pm. This wonderful event is not to be missed and welcomes all generations to the spectacular lighting of the town.
