Calne Heritage Week

5th–11th September 2016

A celebration of Calne’s rich and varied heritage with a daily programme of free walks, talks, open days and family events.

Highlights of this year’s programme include a town-wide Open Doors Day on Saturday 10th September, with many of Calne’s historic buildings taking part such as Grade I listed St Mary’s Church and the town’s 17th century Almshouses, a number of fascinating guided walks and discounted entry to Bowood House & Gardens (with voucher) and Atwell-Wilson Motor Museum on Sunday 11th September.

Families can pick up a Calne’s Animals Town Trail from Calne Heritage Centre from 10am to 4pm throughout the week and spot some of the town’s feathered and furry friends. Get crafty on Saturday 10th September with The Big Weave on The Green, plus children dressed as a character from history can meet the Town Mayor for a photo opportunity at 1pm at Calne Heritage Centre and receive a certificate.

Visit www.calne.gov.uk to view the full programme or call Calne Town Council on 01249 814000 for details.
