Get Christmas Off to a Flying Start!

“What an unexpectedly brilliant night out!” was what one of the audience said after last year’s Wessex Male Choir Christmas Concert – and this year’s concert promises to be even better!   The Wessex is far from your average choir, having won numerous national and international awards and having entertained capacity crowds at both Wembley and Twickenham, they are one of the UK’s top amateur male choirs, and their enthusiasm and entertaining programmes have won them many admirers.

The Wessex is an auditioned choir, so you can expect the standard of singing to be good, but coupled with staging, choreography and atmospheric lighting, the Wessex Christmas concert offers a great evening’s entertainment, and this year, Swindon’s Pegasus Brass will be joining them to make a truly memorable start to Christmas.  The Choir performs a wide range of genres – everything from traditional male choir numbers, to carols, opera choruses, music theatre anthems, rock and pop songs, and everything in between.   There’s something on the programme for everyone and you’ll more than likely end up tapping your feet and humming along to some of the numbers, as well as joining in with a few of your favourite carols.

This year’s Christmas Concert is at Swindon’s Multi Entertainment Cultural Arena (MECA) on Regent’s Circus (SN1 1PR) on Thursday 21st December from 7.30pm to 9.45pm.  There’s comfortable seating, a bar, good on-site facilities and plenty of car parking and restaurants nearby.

The Choir is also accepting new recruits from January and there is an open-evening on Tuesday 16th January 2018 at the rehearsal venue which is the Church of Christ the Servant, Abbey Meads, Swindon, SN25 4YX from 7.30-9.30pm.  Whether you’ve sung with other choirs and you are ready to take your singing further, or even if you have no singing experience, you’ll be assured of a warm Wessex welcome!
